IDOMA ASSOCIATION USA Scholarship money disbursement exercise on the 1st day of March, 2024
- The Idoma Association, USA, continues to exemplify its commitment to community development with the approval of the Rehabilitation of the Ijadioga Borehole project for the 2023/24 period. Initiated in October 2023 and successfully completed by July 2024, this vital initiative aims to provide the Ijadioga community with a reliable and sustainable water source, addressing a long-standing need for clean water access.
- The project’s primary objective centers around the complete rehabilitation of the existing borehole system, originally constructed by UNICEF and UKAID in collaboration with the Benue State Government over four decades ago. The borehole had been non-functional for many years, depriving the community of essential potable water. The restoration of this system is expected to have a transformative impact on the health and well-being of the residents.
- Additionally, the project incorporates the installation of solar-powered water pumps. This environmentally friendly solution not only reduces operational costs but also promotes sustainability, ensuring that the water supply remains viable for future generations. Furthermore, the project includes comprehensive water distribution systems, including storage tanks and pipelines, essential for efficient delivery across the community.
- Overall, the Ijadioga borehole project embodies The Idoma Association’s dedication to enhancing the quality of life in the Ijadioga community through sustainable development initiatives.
