APPLICATION GUIDELINES
The Idoma Association USA Scholarship Programme is designed to support academically promising Idoma students and strengthen youth development across Idoma land. For the 2026–2027 academic session, ninety (90) students are proposed for support: ten (10) beneficiaries from each of the nine local government areas.
1. Eligibility Requirements
- Applicant must be an Idoma child or ward from one of the nine Idoma local government areas in Benue State.
- Applicant must be enrolled in Senior Secondary School One (SS1) during the 2026–2027 academic session.
- Applicant must have placed first, second, or third in the most recent school examination. Where students tie for a position, all tied students may be considered.
- Applicant must demonstrate good character, regular school attendance, and commitment to education.
- Only one application per student will be accepted.
2. Selection Method for 2026–2027
- Due to prevailing security concerns, no centralized written examination will be conducted for this award cycle.
- Eligible applicants will be drawn from verified first-, second-, and third-position students submitted by their schools.
- Where eligible applications exceed available slots, a transparent random selection process will be used.
- Ten successful applicants will be selected from each local government area.
3. Required Supporting Documents
- Completed and signed application form.
- Copy of the applicant’s most recent school result or report card showing class position.
- Letter of confirmation or recommendation from the school principal.
- Proof of SS1 enrolment for the 2026–2027 academic session.
- One recent passport photograph.
- Parent/guardian identification and contact information.
- Proof of local government area of origin, where available.
4. Submission Instructions
- Applications should be submitted through the applicant’s school principal or another channel officially announced by the Scholarship Committee.
- All information must be accurate and verifiable. Incomplete or misleading applications may be disqualified.
- Late applications may not be considered.
- Applicants should retain a copy of the completed form and supporting documents.
5. Scholarship Value and Conditions
- Each successful beneficiary is proposed to receive the equivalent of US$100 for the academic session.
- The award is intended to support school-related expenses and may be paid through a method approved by IAUSA.
- Beneficiaries may be required to provide evidence of continued enrolment and satisfactory conduct.
- IAUSA reserves the right to verify all submitted information and withdraw an award obtained through false representation.
